Transportation in World of Warcraft
World of Warcraft is vast, you need transportation to traverse the world. To travel from one place to another, by utilising the tram system as your transport, the travel time would be reduced to around 3 minutes instead of spending 40 minutes to an hour if you travel on foot.
There are similar mode of transport available to all world of warcrfat players and some are available to only certain classes.
Flying Mounts
These will help you to travel very large distances within a continent. Transcontinent is by a different means. All Flying Mounts are classified as public transport, they are not available as your pet. Flying Mounts are faction dependent and each faction has access to 2 types. Before you can use flying mounts, you will need to discover flight paths.Each race starts with the flight node in their race's starting city. Once you have the flight routes you will need to pay for the trip. Charges range from a few copper to around ten silver. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Alliance
Gryphon
Part eagle and part lion, They are noble symbols of the Alliance fortitude. These mighty gryphons aided the Alliance in its time of need. Their functions are conveying important documents betweeb the Human, Dwarf and the Gnome leaders in the region around Stormwind and Ironforge. They have been harnessed for paid transportation along the routes throughout Alliance-controlled lands. Hippogryph
These magnificient creatures have bodies resemble both stags and ravens. These magical hippogryphs patrol the skies above Northern Kalimdor, scanning the horizon for invaders. They serve as paid transport for the Alliance, carrying travellees along with them on their patrol routes. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Horde
Wyverns
They revel in flight due to their common ancestry with dragons and gryphons. Their duties are to carry Horde riders along various routes surrounding Thunder Bluff and Orgrimmar for a small fee. Vampire Bats
They align themslves with the Forsaken, who continue their struggle against Lord Arthas' Scourge; at the same time maintain a tense alliance with the Horde. They ferry throughout Lordaeron for a fee. They act as scouts for the Dark Lady. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Neutral Transportation - Boats, Zepplins and the Tram Boats, Zepplins, and the Tram are all freely available to players. Each mode of transportation has a round trip of around 5 minutes, so if you miss the boat/zepplin/tram you have a short wait until the next one arrives.
Boat Routes: Booty Bay to Rachet (Neutral) Menethil Harbor to Auberdine (Alliance Territory) Rut'theran to Auberdine (Alliance Territory) Menethil Harbor to Theramore Isle (Alliance Territory)
Zepplin Routes: Orgrimmar to Tirisfal (Horde Territory) Grom'gol to Orgrimmar (Horde Territory) Tram Route: Ironforge to Stormwind (Alliance Territory) If you log out or crash during your journey, you will log back in on the same transport you were on when you logged out, though you will likely be at a different location along its path.
Please do not jump off of Boats and/or Zeppelins when riding them.
